I want to encrypt my XP Pro spk2 OS
I have it on a USB HDD with two other partitions, all of the partitions are NTFS
will it work with NTFS or do I need FAT32 or other filesystem?
if anyone has had success with truecrypt or other OS encrytption please share your method.
thanks,
LP

report success. only one partition formatted NTFS with HPtool then transferred the USBoot OS files/folders and installed truecrypt 6.2
boots successfully in my desktop but not in my notebook. in the notebook the truecrypt bootloader hangs after entering password.
the same USBoot XPsp2 OS boots up in the notebook without truecrypt.
anyone have any ideas why it the truecrypt bootloader wont boot with truecrypt bootloader?
thanks

report: I have tried also Drive Crypt Plus Pack without success. it fails at the same point AS TrueCrypt with this notebook and any USB drive combination
now Ive tried DiskCryptor:
http://diskcryptor.net/index.php/Main_Page
it gets much further along in booting than the others. all the way to the ArcGuard where it seems like at the point where disk checking starts then I get the BSOD UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
can I dissable disk checking with USBoot? any suggestions?
thanks

I am not sure what you are referring to by "disable disk checking with USBoot" but if you are talking about the USBoot ArcGuard then you may disable it by setting the value "Start" in the registry key "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\ubarcgd" to "4".

I dunno dude, but u sound like u`re plain` with ur both HDD connected while installing xp.. so u may mess up the loadin` seq. meaning u`ll not b able to boot one hdd w/ the other anymore. unless you correct the boot.ini config file.
