Hello there,
Is there any way to provide include (or exclude) list of directories when creating usboot? It appears that it takes everything from drive C:.

Is there any kind of hacking possible before phase-iii ? That way we can ensure that very optimized list is copied?
Any suggestions?

I agree this would be useful, or perhaps a "fresh windows XP install" option that doesn't take all the junk I have accumulated and put it on the USB stick ! I was taken aback when it filled up an 8 GB stick - back to the drawing board for me.

No, actually there is no such mechanism. Moreover it is considered a bit dangerous to implement such functionality as (at least some) users might not be aware of the fact which folders will be in some way or another needed for running a stable system. And it would be quite undesirable if they would blame USBoot or booting from USB itself for potential issues.
You may however use some other method to accomplish the transfer itself instead of using the first step of phase III. Please note however that even in this case the remaining steps of phase will still have to be executed prior to the first try to boot from USB
Moreover you should keep in mind that a plain file copy might not work as intended. (This is the reason why USBoot does some finalization after the actual file copy procedure!)

Thanks for the response.
This feature can only be for very very advanced user. Like I know there is lots of junk XP comes with like outlook express and some stupid games and many such other things.
Any suggestions what file I need to modify to remove some directories etc? I take the full responsibility of it
TIA.

Resp. admin,
Some relaxation of rule? if there any file, where we can go and comment the list that's going to be copied to usb key?
Alternatively we can modify the batch file and built some custom if condition there? Please share your view and some drops from your ocean of knowledge

There is no list of items to be transferred that could be altered in the install script (.isc-file). In its actual implementation the command for the transfer of a whole installation takes the driveletters of source and target drive but does not allow for a more specific selection of files or folders to be copied.

Thanks Gerd.
I've ordered 32gb so doesn't look like I am goint to venture any more. Will let you know if I dare to touch it and shall provide back with updated version.
Nevertheless, very nicely made smart tool. Appreciate it.
