usboot setup done on ide does not notice sata drives | solved

i had an issue where i installed windows xpsp2 on an ide pata drive
then did the usboot phase-I,II and III
copied manually, with an other xp installed on d:, the source on c: to ide usb
then started my new asus laptop with the usboot external drive
but could not see the internal sata disk/partitions
i installed the chipset from my new asus laptop into the usboot windows xp
started the device manager/start/run/devmgmt.msc
choose an unknown device and choose reinstall
make sure you have the original driver CD ready and zip/rar files unpacked
or check the website from the pc brand you use for the latest drivers
so the only driver i only need on any usboot disk are the chipset and network drivers to solve any issue on the windows os. i always download all the drivers from the computer model just in case i can not find too lazy to search the driver cd.
leaves me with the question: what will happen to my usboot windows when i have so many drivers installed from so many computers? not to mention all the ugly programs like nvidia that set startup items e.g. nwiz, nvmctray, nvcpl that you can not use on a pc that hac no nvida graphics card. but i disabled these with /start/run/msconfig then choose startup
