IT WORKS!

MB = Gigabyte GAM52S-S3P
External HDD = WD Mybook essential Edition 500GB

I simply followed all instruction and copied WIN in a 16GB NTFS partition on USB HDD.

Only one curious question: all works perfetctly but I lost all Firewall (Zonealarm) configurations.

Congrats, that's nice to see wink

Unfortunately I have no experience with zonealarm at all. You may however try to use some external way to accomplish the actual transfer of the installation to the USB partition instead of executing the first step of phase III (though you should definitely only skip the first step then). This might help with some kind of issues regarding alternate (short) filenames.

it's July 17 2008 about 7 months passed since I started my experience whith USBOOT and everything is working perfectly.
I had a system crash only once because of Gigabyte easytune software installation.

( only one windows crash in 7 months is a world record also for a "normal" booting windows biggrin )

I solved also Zone Alarm problem. I simply uninstalled and reinstalled it.

Zone alarm slows USBOOT very much and also causes sometimes some files not to be loaded. Now I'm using a different firewall and everything works fine.
